Fair Trade Pasadena, Fuller Peace and Justice Group, Conscientious Projectors, Ten Thousand Villages, Sustainable Worlds, and Global Exchange will be presenting the provocative documentary, The Dark Side of Chocolate, about the devastating side of chocolate, one wrought with abusive child labor. But there is hope. We will have discussion after about how the Fair trade Chocolate movement can make a difference.

Reading of children’s book “Think Fair Trade First” and mini-lesson at Vroman’s. Reading of the book and an interactive lesson on the origins of chocolate and the importance of Fair Trade Chocolate followed by Fair Trade Chocolate milk and brownies.

A Fair Trade Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream Social for Teens (13-18) who participate in the curriculum and/or the poster contest. The contest winner will be announced.
LONG BEACH

This is FTLA’s first Fair Trade Caravan at the Bixby Knolls First Friday Art Walk. Fair Trade merchants will be there for you to do shopping and learning about Fair Trade.

The Museum is holding a Dia de los Muertos event in its parking lot on Sunday evening. There will be many vendors and we hope to include our Fair Trade LA Caravans.
SOUTH PASADENA

WHERE: South Pasadena Clean-Air Car Show & Green-Living Expo, 1414 Mission Street (between Fair Oaks and Fremont avenues) in South Pasadena.
Fair Trade South Pasadena will have an information booth and display at the Clean Air Car Show in South Pasadena. Please stop by and see advanced-technology vehicles, green products for the home and garden, solar energy systems information and resources for our Fair Trade South Pasadena effort and more. The event will also feature free educational seminars on electric vehicles, health effects of air pollution, and environmentally friendly gardening techniques.
