Formed in 2005, FTLA is an open, democratically-organized group of people who share a common goal to promote social justice and environmental awareness around the world. We are committed to imbedding Fair Trade principles, practices and purchases within our towns, colleges and universities.
Our objectives are to:
- Create Fair Trade Towns, Colleges and Universities in cities throughout Los Angeles County and surrounding areas
- Inform the Los Angeles consumer about Fair Trade as an aspect of social justice and develop conscious shoppers
- Bring more Fair Trade products to the L.A. area, increasing their sales
- Connect members of the L.A. community with others who have similar environmental, social and economic concerns
Fair Trade LA participants include individuals, business members, university and student groups, faith based members, and non-profit organizations.
Find out what FTLA is all about by joining us at one of our meetings! More information on meeting location, time and dates can be found in the FTLA Blog section of the website. We always welcome new participants to help expand the fair trade movement.
Everyone’s welcome to participate. All you have to do is express your interest! Simply sign up by email on the Email Subscription section on the right side of the page. You’ll then receive information about Fair Trade actions and events in the Los Angeles area! Also please let us know if you have any questions.
We hope to hear from you.
